Эрик Стэнтон родился 20 (по другим данным 30) сентября 1926 года в Бруклине, Нью-Йорк. Его мать имела российские корни, отец же носил итальянскую фамилию D'Andrea. В связи с началом Второй Мировой войны Стэнтон прерывает свое обучение и призывается в армию в военно морской флот, где участвует в военных действиях против Японии. Рисовать он начал еще в армии, где часто создавал рисунки по просьбе своих сослуживцев. После окончания войны Эрик Стэнтон пробовал себя на различных поприщах: метатель ножа в русском ресторане, официант, могильщик. Так продолжалось до тех пор, пока он не встретил известного Нью-Йоркского издателя Ирвинга Клоу. Их сотрудничество продолжалось до самой смерти Клоу в 1964 году.Стэнтон-самоучка, настоящий самородок, взявший несколько формальных уроков рисования в 1952 году. В то время он уже интенсивно работал как художник. Именно Клоу позже убедил его посещать Школу Изобразительных Искусств.После смерти Клоу Стэнтон работал внештатным художником,и только иногда рисовал для других издателей, предпочитая вместо этого создавать "Архив Стэнтона"- собрание комиксов, кино- и фотоматериалов. Это становится его заработком, ибо он продает произведения по почте для своих многочисленных почитателей. Кроме этого у Стэнтона существовало несколько богатых клиентов, которые заказывали ему сюжеты произведений, получая преимущественное право на владение оригиналами. Стэнтон оставлял у себя копии, которые тоже пользуются бешеным спросом в мире. Стэнтон умер 17 марта 1999 года в центре здравооохранения для ветеранов, после перенесенных за последние два года жизни нескольких инсультов. После себя он оставил жену, троих сыновей, дочь и внука. В настоящее время именно его вторая жена Бритт управляет "Архивом Стэнтона", который собрал в себя произведения за более чем 40 лет творчества художника. Источник:femdomart.ru
