I usually prefer getting the original movies, but in this case I can concede that, all in all, it's just great fun, and a good buy if retailers do pass the low price on to consumers, though note the DVD comments below. Now, all this nostalgia has given me a taste for seeing An American Buttman in London and Buttman's Bouncin' British Babes on DVD…what are the chances?

First, I should point out, of course, that the camcorders (Hi-8, I think) John Stagliano uses in these old scenes offer nothing like the quality available today, so be warned the picture quality is grainy, somewhat weak in colour and certainly not up to contemporary standards. The shooting is occasionally (I guess deliberately) "amateur" in style and the lighting in the Joy scene in particular lends the picture that typical slightly unpleasant yellow tinge. None of this detracts from my viewing pleasure as the subject matter is bloody good, but it's worth taking note. The menus are not the full Evil Angel selection, no extra footage is on offer, but there's still a photo gallery, trailers, text biography and cast list. Note that this is supposed to be a budget price release - not all the vendors in the ADT price search seem to have realised this, so make sure your favourite supplier is charging the low price (as low as $12.95) not the usual Evil Angel price.
