Now that my site is up, I spend a lot of my time doing independent studies. I love studying sustainable farming, homesteading techniques and philosophies, accounting, U.S. tax law, finance, bee keeping and chicken rearing, carpentry, aquaponics, molecular nutrition, French, and environmental sciences to name a few. Typically, when I'm not working on the next shoot or shooting for another company such as FTV Girls, I'm teaching myself a new skill. There's nothing more rewarding to me than knowing that the meal I'm eating was entirely grown by me and that the table I'm eating at was built with hard labor and gallons of coconut water. Figuring out how things work and implementing that knowledge to achieve greater things is one of my greatest joys. Nothing excites me more than learning something new and putting it to good use (aside from maybe a good pair of ruffled socks and bright hair accessories..).
On a typical day, I wear the brightest, loudest colours I can possible find. My usual outfit consists of a very fluffy blue dress with pink butterflies on it, a pink ruffly petticoat underneath, white knee high socks with a rainbow running down the sides, shiny mary janes, and an excessive amount of hair bows. Needless to say, I get offered kid's admission and children's menus on a regular basis. I gladly accept both as well as the box of crayons that come with them.
I'm hoping the common misconception that I'm somewhere between 10 and 14 continues for many years to come. I feel that says that I have an air of innocence, curiosity, and warmth about me, and I sincerely hope that's something I never grow out of. I may be a pessimist at heart, but my pessimism tends to keep me happier than most, and I feel that really shows. Expecting and preparing for the worst (without getting grouchy or melancholy about it) is the best way to make sure that you're never caught with your pants down (unless you want to be if you catch my drift) and that you're constantly pleasantly surprised. It's like getting the check for your meal and finding out that you get a 75% discount. You were prepared to spend $20 for your meal, but spending $5 instead suddenly becomes exhilarating.
In short, I suppose one could term me a walking conundrum. I'm a capable, independent woman who outwardly projects an image quite similar to that of a child. I'm a pessimist who's always in a great mood. I'm a self employed workaholic whose primary goal is to be able to retire as fast as possible. I'm a scholar who spends hours upon hours studying independently and has a thirst for knowledge, yet refuses to attend college. I surely hope I can continue to surprise the world, and I really hope I can surprise you with my videos as well. I aim to please, so you're in for a real treat!
