Судя по тому, как там снимают гей-порно - именно из-за этого. "Сожжем все ради красивого кадра!" Хотя на самом деле, конечно, это все очень печально, но в самом фильме как раз полная идиллия: лошадки, коровки, чуть беловатая, словано слегка припыленная зелень, ферма, секс на мешке с зерном... Римминг, фингеринг, оргия "паровозиком", сольная мастурбация - чего тут только нет! Даже верблюд в кадр попадает! Ну и красавчик Билли Брандт, как главная причина посмотреть вообще любой, на мой взгляд, фильм.
А вообще - просто очень красивая работа с "пустынными" спецэффектами, получившая в свое время немало лестных отзывов.

Это официальный релиз?
Нет, и для фильма 1999 года таковой вряд ли появится. На официальном сайте предлагается оригинал со слегка искаженными под широкий экран пропорциями.
Тогда что это и зачем это?
Данный релиз - демонстрация работы нейросетей над видео с низким разрешением и довольно посредственным качеством исходника. Попытка привести в смотрибельный вид "старое ламповое порно".
И что, прямо 1080p?
По факту - 1424x1080, с обрезанием черных полосок на краях оригинала. Но, конечно, никакого реального HD тут не может быть по определению: на данный момент невозможно абсолютно безошибочно воссоздать в кадре информацию, которой в нем априори нет. Можно только попытаться: где-то дорисовать текстуры, где-то сделать очертания лиц и фигур более четкими, и, конечно, полностью убрать цифровой шум. Вот именно эти вещи нейросеть и пытается сделать, генерируя отсутствующий контент на основе сотен тысяч просмотренных во время "обучения" образцов. Плюс теперь я еще дополнительно совместил два различных метода с большей и меньшей детализацией - на мой взгляд, получилось лучше, чем в прошлом релизе.
И сильно улучшилось?
Для того, чтобы можно было сравнить, я в первом сообщении темы оставлю пары из кадров для сравнения в масштабе 100%. Много не буду, в прошлый раз уже все всем доказал, если интересно - смотрите вот тут:
Итак, слева - то, как выглядит оригинальное видео, будучи растянуто до 1080 точек по вертикали, а справа - то, что из него в итоге получилось. В этот раз использовал Фотошоп, поэтому изображение слева лучше, чем оригинал видео, но все равно разница видна. Цветокоррекцию я не проводил специально: хотелось сохранить теплую атмосферу оригинальной картинки.
В общем, опять же, смотрите и комментируйте - нравится результат, или нет. И если да, то высказывайте пожелания, к каким старым фильмам можно попробовать подобную обработку применить.
